India Entered World Test Championship 2021-23 Finals With Sri Lanka’s Defeat

As Sri Lanka was defeated by New Zealand on Sunday at Christchurch, team India got the golden chance to enter the World Test Championship Ship 2021-23 finals. Now the game will continue between India and Australia to win the title. Their match will be played from June 7 at The Oval in London.

Before the match played between New Zealand’s victory, it was a tough competitive time between India and Sri Lanka to secure the one vacant spot in WTC 2021-23 finals. However, if we judge all the possible scenarios, it was highly tough for team Sri Lanka to secure the title. They not only needed to win both their tests against New Zealand but also required India to lose the match in Ahmedabad.

WTC Journey Started With the Victory Over England

India’s journey to the finals of WTC was commenced with a Test match series in England, which played from August to September 2021. Under the supervision of Kohli-Shastri, they won both their matches and took the series to a 2-1 ratio. However, the fifth test was postponed without a definite period due to the coronavirus pandemic.
